How to enjoy healthy and glowing skin in harsh winters
Skin is the most important and
the most visible part of the body which can help us adjust in the environment
and live a peaceful life. However, there are some people who face a lot of
problems due to skin when their skin is not adjusting to the local environment
or it cannot tolerate the allergens and agents present in the air. Winters can
be very harsh on skin as the skin goes dry and even becomes itchy which often
cause problems for people with dry and sensitive skin and they need some extra
care to ensure it does not crack and cause them pain.
A healthy and glowing skin is
the key to impressive and appealing personality and helps you look forward to a
confidential appearance too. If you don’t like winters just because you face
skin problems during this time, it is time to stop dreading this season and look
forward to enjoying the cool weather by taking good care of your skin and
making it glow for a pleasant personality.
Here are some tips on how to
enjoy healthy and glowing skin in harsh winters:
Make sure to keep on drinking
water even if you don’t want to as this is something that happens to most of us
and due to cold we don’t feel very thirsty which dehydrates our skin. Water is the most important thing that our
cells need to function normally and lack of water in the body not only harms
the skin but also body organs in the long run so make sure to keep on taking
liquid during the day. Tea and coffee should be taken in moderation as they are
not so good. You can have fresh juices and smoothies but make sure they do not
have too much sugar as its bad for health.
Buy a good moisturizing cream
or lotion that suits your skin. It is because you need to protect the skin from
harsh elements that make it dry and papery. If you are not a big fan of lotions or
moisturizers, you can get a little coconut, olive or almond oil and lightly
massage it on the legs, hands and other parts of the body before taking a
shower. You can also heat the oil a little bit if you find it cold and it will
do wonders for the skin, keeping it soft and supple.
Winter sun is also harsh so
make sure to use a light sunscreen or moisturizer after the shower to protect
it from the rays that can damage the skin.
Milk and almonds are another
great combination that works perfectly for skin. Just take half a cup of milk
and soap around 4 to 5 almonds in it. Grind the mixture into a smooth paste and
refrigerate. You can apply this mixture on the face gently before going to
sleep and wash it in the following morning. You will find soft and smooth skin
within no time.
Sandalwood, turmeric and olive
oil are simple kitchen items that can work wonders for dry and sensitive skin
in winters. Mix all these ingredients with honey and yogurt and apply them on
the face for about 10 to 15 minutes. Wash with water and you will find yourself
with a much better looking skin. All
these items are easily available and do not cost much which makes them the best
option.
